The Freeh Report on Penn State University is set for release today. According to Louis Freeh, and his law firm, Freeh Sporkin & Sullivan, LLP, the report will be released here at 9:00am EST. Freeh and his team were brought in by the university to investigate “the facts and circumstances of the actions” at the university surrounding the actions of former assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky. The report is set to include a review of actions taken by university employees and recommendations for policy changes.
Freeh and his team interviewed over 400 people regarding Sandusky and the child sex-abuse scandal as well as the relationship between the institution’s football program and the university’s senior administrators. Freeh has stated that his review would be conducted in ”a thorough, fair, comprehensive manner, leaving no stone unturned, and without any fear or favor.”
The NCAA has also taken an interest in Penn State and is currently reviewing how Penn State exerted “institutional control” in relation to this matter as well as any unethical conduct that may have been taken by the institution’s administrators in relation to compliance with their own policies and procedures.
